Coincidentally, Aidan Turner previously filmed at Chavenage House (the Priory in Rivals)
Story
It follows Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham as they have a long-standing rivalry that comes to a head. The same filming location was also used to depict Trenwith House in the 2015 BBC TV adaptation of Poldark.
5 minutes into the first episode and I was hooked
When I first saw Rivals coming out, I squealed a little with excitement. I was also nervous ~ being a fan of the books.
The clothes, the make-up, the music ~ what a soundtrack
Each episode is fast-paced, there are no moments where you get bored or feel dragged out, as is often the case with many of these mini-series. All the characters are so unique and so well-played, the acting and set design are excellent.
This series is fun, bold, colourful and nostalgic
I understand the disappointment with the change in Rupert’s appearance. but it’s not really a big deal, nor does it have any lasting impact imo.
Please let there be more of that
It doesn’t disappoint at all and can we take a moment to appreciate David Tennent who once again plays the ‘bad’ guy perfectly.
